Delegate of the month: Sarah
Meet Sarah from Woolworths Charlestown - she's our Delegate of the Month for February!
Sarah has been a Delegate for 2.5 years and an SDA member for 13.5 years!
We asked Sarah about her role as a Delegate. Here’s what she had to say....
Why did you become a Delegate?
Because I think it is important to be there for the team & for them to have someone else to come to & ask any queries they might have.
Why is recruitment important?
Recruitment is important because the more people that we can get as members the more the SDA can do for us. We support them; they support us.
What campaigns have you been involved with and why are they important?
Having recently come back from Mat Leave, I'm looking forward to recirculating more NODAS under-badges.
What has been your most notable achievement in your workplace?
My most notable achievement in the workplace is helping a fellow team member apply for back pay on a previous roster she was working that wasn't abiding by our agreement.
What have you enjoyed about being a Delegate most so far?
I enjoy being a safe person my team mates can come and ask me any questions they may have.
What do you aim to achieve in your workplace in the next 12 months?
In the next 12 months I aim to get more people signed up to be a member. Between myself and our other Delegates in-store our goal is to increase membership by 10%.
What do you get most out of the role as a Delegate?
I just want to be there to help & support my team as much as I possibly can. I get satisfaction from being someone the team can come to for advice, knowing they can confide in me.
