Meet Kylie from Woolworths Gosford - she's our Delegate of the Month for December!

Kylie became a Delegate a few months ago, after being an SDA member for six years.

We asked Kylie about her new role as a Delegate and here's what she had to say...

Why did you become a Delegate?

I became a delegate to help our staff with any issues they may have and to improve working conditions, as well as being a support for them.

Why is recruitment important?

Recruitment is important so that we can support all members of staff, grow a strong union community within the store and build rapport with managers and staff.

What campaigns have you been involved with and why are they important?

Because I am only relatively new to being a delegate, I haven’t been involved in any campaigns yet but I am looking forward to getting in and getting everybody involved for their rights!

What has been your most notable achievement in your workplace?

In the last three months I have recruited 11 new members in store.

What have you enjoyed about being a Delegate most so far?

I love being approached by members and being able to inform them of their rights at work.

What do you aim to achieve in your workplace in the next 12 months?

I hope to recruit more, and increase density in store by 25%, and make sure people are aware of what the union stands for and how much we help!

What do you get most out of the role as a Delegate?

 I just love helping people.
